It looks like the makers of the Optimus keyboard are working on something even geekier (woohoo). They have available on their homepage news of their new concept keyboard called Optimus Tactus.
“Optimus Tactus does not have physical keys, which means there are no restrictions on their shape and size”. The Optimus Tactus will use a tactile display, the size of a normal keyboard, which displays the virtual keys or any kind of screen/video. You can configure it to look the way you want. This is a big step forward. The Optimus keyboard is great because you can configure each key to look like the way you want. With the Tactus you would be able to configure the entire key layout and even add pictures or videos on the board. Great stuff.
The release date for this keyboard is set to 01-01-2008. Er… I guess it will take a little longer.
One note in the site: “Problem. Make a one sensor display keyboard”. Our comment: “We believe in you. You can do it!! Pleeeease do it”.

If you are interested in photography than you probably know that there are some rumors about a new Nikon camera coming out next Spring to replace the Nikon D40x (pictured above).
This rumor is backed up by Matthew Lin in a post in dpreview.com, which according to Photography Bay is a relevant source.
Let’s hope this one comes with some nice features to complement the range of lower end cameras and, who knows, maybe Live View

Netscape, which is owned by AOL since 1998, is about to die. AOL is ending the development and support for this browser after the 1st of February. The reason is that Netscape Navigator is being used by a tiny population. Currently, Netscape has around 0.6% of the web population using it, which compared to the 90% they had 15 years ago … is shocking. Microsoft contributed to this with the not-really-fair inclusion of their web browser, Internet Explorer, on their operating system, Microsoft Windows.
AOL will now encourage Netscape users to start using Firefox. Which is good news and makes sense, since Firefox was created by Netscape developers. As a note, please don’t go for Internet Explorer. Although version 7 is a much better version compared to version 6 (you’re not using IE6, are you?), it is still one of the worst browsers out there, which is used by 80% of people.
If you still want it for remembering the good old times (er…) you can still download a copy, but with no kind of support whatsoever after the 1st of February.

Here I am submitting the first post on this blog…
Hopefully in a few months we can have this blog populated with loads of ‘geeky’ information.
It is going to be a blog about all kinds of cool stuff out there, namely gadgets, games, movies, etc.
It is going to be a cooool blog.
Although this site is starting as a new blog it will probably expand to have some more categories and also some other menus and stuff. The blog will slowly become a small part of this new and great web site.
Cheerios!!
